Condensing Boilers

Are you thinking about getting a new boiler?
Since 2005 all gas central-heating boilers fitted in England and Wales must be condensing boilers unless there are exceptional circumstances. The need for high efficiency boilers is perhaps best summed up by the staggering fact that if every home in the UK installed a condensing boiler, the money saved would cover the cost of the annual combined fuel and power bills of more than two million households.  Over the years, we have worked with many different boiler manufacturers and systems. However to us, one make stands out and as a result we recommend, supply and install the Worcester Bosch Greenstar range of condensing boilers.
All the Greenstar range of condensing boilers are Rated in Sedbuk Band ‘A’- the highest efficiency band achievable. They are more than 90% efficient- which in simple terms means that over 90% of the gas consumed is converted into heat for the Heating and Hot Water systems. There is very little energy wastage, so it requires less fuel to produce the heat you require, resulting in more economical running costs.

By comparison, many older boilers in use throughout the UK operate as low as only 50% efficiency. In other words, 50 pence of every £1 in fuel bills is simply going “up the chimney”. And even the many boilers in use that achieve 70-75% efficiency still waste a quarter of the fuel they consume.

What is a high efficiency condensing boiler?

During the operation of a boiler, exhaust gases are expelled out of the flue; a condensing boiler is able to extract and use much of the heat from the gases before the flue gases discharge. This ability to extract more heat from the fuel it consumes makes it more efficient and also reduces emissions.

Is your boiler energy efficient?

If its 10-15 years old then it probably isn’t. Replacing your old boiler with a new condensing boiler can save you around a third on your heating bills straight away.

Around 60% of CO² emissions from your home are down to your boiler. With an efficient new boiler you could save up to 875kg of CO² and £170 a year.

Adding a full set of heating controls as well as a new boiler, and you could increase the total savings to around £275 and 1.4 tonnes of CO² a year.*

What can we do?

As a company we will arrange a visit to your property at your convenience when we will assess your current installation. We will advise you of what type of condensing boiler and system controls would be suitable, to meet you and your properties current and future requirements.
We currently hold City & Guilds qualifications in energy efficiency for domestic heating and all advice and quotations will be given using the Central Heating System Specifications (CheSS) Year 2005.

After receiving your quotation we are only a phone call or e-mail away to discuss any queries or problems with your quotation.
If you wish to go ahead we will then work with you to find a suitable date for the job to commence, we will also be able to explain to you what’s involved in your installation and estimate the length of the job.
We will then undertake your installation, taking the best care of your property and appreciating the fact that our workplace is your home.
On completion of your installation we will give you a full demonstration on how your new boiler and system works. We will show you how best to use your controls so as to make your system operate at its highest efficiency.
We offer a complete after care service and always stress to our customers that we are only a phone call away if they have any problems or queries on how to use their new heating controls.
