Unvented Hot Water Systems

The supply of hot water to houses within the UK has traditionally been provided from a cold water storage cistern usually located in the roofspace. The rate of discharge and water pressure at the tap is dependent on the height or head of water between the level in the cold-water cistern and the draw off tap.
An unvented hot water cylinder differs from this as it supplies mains pressure hot water throughout your property.
Unvented systems are ideal for modern homeowners who use several bathrooms at the same time, and who want frequent showers and constant, but cost effective, hot water.

The benefits of an unvented system are:

The installation of a unvented hot water system must comply with both the Water regulations and the Building Regulations. It will also have to be notified to the Building Control office, who will want to ascertain who will be installing the system. The system must be installed by a competent person, in other words someone who is qualified for the installation of Unvented hot water systems.

In the UK this means training and assessment by a reconised training body with cards being issued by organisations such as the Institute of Plumbing (IoP), the Construction Industry training board (CITB) or BPEC Certfication. Andy currently holds a BPEC Qualification in Unvented Hot Water storage systems, so is qualified to install, service and maintain your Unvented hot water system.
